FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Rosedale, MD, June 6, 2023] – Today, the Rosedale community united to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated playground at Hamilton Park. This momentous occasion showcases the transformative power of park renovations and emphasizes the critical role of parks and open spaces in our communities.
“The District 8 team stated, ‘As elected officials, we deeply understand the importance of investing in our parks and open spaces. They are essential assets that greatly contribute to our communities’ fabric, enhancing our neighborhoods’ livability. We commend the tireless efforts of Baltimore County Recreation and Parks in their commitment to maintaining and improving our parks, ensuring that they remain cherished spaces for generations to come,'” said Senator Kathy Klausmeier, Delegate Harry Bhandari, Delegate Carl Jackson, Delegate Nick Allen, and Councilman Mike Ertel.
The success of this project is a testament to the outstanding collaboration between the state and local leadership of Baltimore County Government, as well as the District 8 legislators. Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. and the unwavering dedication of Baltimore County Recreation and Parks (BCRP) have made this achievement possible. The District 8 team, in collaboration with the local government, has prioritized enhancing our parks and open spaces, recognizing their importance in promoting our residents’ physical and mental well-being and fostering community engagement, and securing funding through a state legislative bond initiative.
The playground at Hamilton Park has undergone a remarkable transformation thanks to the diligent work of BCRP. The newly designed equipment includes updated swing bays, climbing structures, slides, seating areas, and more. The thoughtful design creates a welcoming atmosphere and pleasing aesthetics, demonstrating BCRP’s commitment to creating inclusive and engaging spaces for the community. The park’s vibrant blue and green color scheme, matching BCRP’s new logo, adds vibrancy and beauty.
The Hamiltowne playground renovations and park enhancements represent a $470,000 investment. This significant investment improves the physical infrastructure and provides children with a safe and enjoyable environment to play and explore. It is heartwarming to witness children already delighting in the new equipment and experiencing the abundant benefits of this revitalized park.
Parks and open spaces are vital to the well-being of our communities. They serve as family gathering places, promote physical activity, and encourage social interaction. These spaces offer a refuge from the hectic pace of daily life, providing opportunities for relaxation, recreation, and a connection with nature. They contribute to the overall quality of life and foster a sense of pride and belonging within our neighborhoods.
