The application process for Baltimore County Public Schools’ magnet programs has begun with the release of magnet applications for the 2021-2022 school year. Magnet brochures describing program offerings are available online.
BCPS has some absolutely terrific magnet programs, some right here in District 8. At Parkville High School the computer science and cybersecurity classes are top-notch. At Parkville Middle School, an array of options are offered, including applied engineering, mass communication, visual and graphic arts, and sustainable engineering and architectural systems. At Golden Ring Middle School they have an absolutely tremendous health science program. Essentially, there are programs for whatever may pique your child’s interest.
Students and families are also invited to attend virtual application information meetings on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Online pre-registration is required for the application information meetings. (The annual countywide Magnet EXPO! was canceled this year due to the pandemic.)
