Maryland, USA – July 29, 2023: The American Society of Nepalese Engineers (ASNEngr) Annual Convention commenced as engineers from diverse fields gathered to explore cutting-edge innovations and foster collaboration. The event, held in Maryland, offered a dynamic program that ignited minds and celebrated the achievements of the engineering community.
Delegate Harry Bhandari, Ph.D., Maryland State Delegate and Chair of Maryland Legislative Asian-American & Pacific-Islander Caucus graced the occasion. In his address, he shared his inspiring journey, urging engineers to embrace the power of education, resilience, and community support to forge a path to success. His powerful message resonated with the audience, reinforcing the significance of engineers in shaping a better future for society.
Addressing the gathering Mr. Kumar P Kharel, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in Washington, D.C., delivered an empowering speech highlighting the importance of fostering international collaborations and knowledge exchange in engineering and technology.
Arun Shrestha, the CEO & Co-Founder of BeyondID, captivated the audience with his visionary insights into the future of technology and identity management. He emphasized the significance of cybersecurity and discussed how BeyondID’s cutting-edge solutions are reshaping the digital landscape.
The technical sessions proved to be a highlight of the convention. Led by industry experts, the sessions delved into various engineering domains. It explored river basin development policy, floodplain modeling, and concrete column strengthening.
Session two brought together professionals to discuss real-time wireless monitoring systems, security in private 5G networks, and data analytics in construction engineering. The session illuminated the potential of technology in enhancing infrastructure and data management.
The convention hosted a Fireside Chat moderated by Shuva Adhikari, exploring the future of engineering, emphasizing the role of emerging technologies in transforming industries.
In Session three, experts unveiled the significance of virtual power plants, wind energy, and floating solar photovoltaic systems. These sessions underscored the growing importance of sustainable energy solutions.
Moreover, the Public Service Announcement highlighted the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps’ vital role in addressing public health challenges and promoting environmental sustainability.
The convention also provided ample opportunities for networking and collaboration—engineers connected during lunch and happy hour, exchanging ideas and forging partnerships to drive collective progress.
As the event drew close, the Engineer Association’s leadership, E.C., BoD, advisors, and the conference team wrapped up the successful program and held the AGM to chart the future course.
