Governor Hogan Announcement 5/27
Today, Governor Larry Hogan announced further easement on restrictions as the state of Maryland moves toward completion of Phase One in the plan to reopen. With increased testing and fully operational contact tracing, as well as a steep decline in positivity rates, a number of restrictions are being lifted.
Starting on Friday at 5 p.m., restaurants and social organizations (eg American Legion/VFW/Elks) may begin safely reopening for outdoor dining following strict public health requirements. Those requirements can be found here: Gatherings-7th-AMENDED-5.27.20
Likewise, some restrictions are being lifted regarding youth sports, youth day camps, outdoor pools, and drive-in movie theaters. If all goes well over the next week, Governor Hogan will look to move into Phase Two.
It is still paramount that we continue to follow CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, use of masks, and more. If you are able to stay home you are urged to continue to do so. While these restrictions have been eased statewide, it’s important to note that Baltimore County has not done so. But this is important progress, and I will keep you informed of any additional changes at the state and local levels.
