Gaithersburg, MD – May 17, 2023 – Governor Wes Moore, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, and a diverse group of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community members came together to commemorate AAPI Heritage Month at the highly anticipated event organized by the Maryland Democratic Asian American Pacific Islander Diversity Leadership Council.
The event, titled “AAPILeaves No One Behind – To Serve and Lead!”, witnessed an outpouring of support from distinguished individuals, including Senator Clarance Lamb, Delegate Kumar Barve, Delegate Harry Bhandari, Delegate Kathy Wu from the AAPI Caucus, and numerous other Delegates across the state.
The Maryland Democratic Asian American Pacific Islander Diversity Leadership Council’s event served as a platform to recognize and honor the incredible contributions of the AAPI community to the fabric of Maryland’s diverse society. Governor Wes Moore, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, and the participating leaders shared in the celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, reaffirming the vital role of the AAPI community in shaping the state’s progress and success.
