Celebrating Legislative Success: I am thrilled to announce that Governor Wes Moore signed three of my bills into law! Thank you to all my constituents and advocates who joined us for the bill-signing ceremony. These new laws, including House Bills 1151, 633, 300, and 967, address critical issues such as healthcare access, alternative energy, and celebrating diversity and culture. Although House Bill 274 faced a procedural issue that did not become law, I am committed to resolving this matter by collaborating with committees. Together, we are shaping a better future for Maryland. Special thanks to Brian Frazee, Aliyah Horton, Dr. Anna Palmisano, and all the dedicated individuals who contributed to this success!

Collaboration and Community Pride I enjoyed addressing the HPCA end-of-session review meeting with my colleagues. Representing our community is an honor I cherish, and I am immensely proud to be part of such a dedicated team. I extend my gratitude to the Harford Park Community Association for hosting an informative meeting, and I am excited about our continued collaboration for the betterment of our community. Congratulations, Perry Hall High School Graduates! Congratulations to all the scholarship and award recipients at Perry Hall High School! Your hard work and dedication have paid off, making your families, school, and community proud. It was an honor to be part of the special event alongside my colleagues from District 8 and address such an exceptional group of students. I would also like to congratulate Principal Mr. Craig Reed and the Perry Hall High School family for their leadership and hospitality. The Class of 2023 will undoubtedly achieve great things, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing their impact in our communities and beyond.

Education’s Guiding Light at Gilman School Education is a guiding light, illuminating our path and empowering us to navigate challenges. Yesterday, I had the privilege of standing before the students at Gilman School, celebrating diversity and sharing my life journey. It was a humbling experience to highlight the significance of education and the transformative power of giving back to our community. My sincere appreciation goes to Gilman School for providing me with this platform. At Gilman, I witnessed a community dedicated to nurturing young minds and fostering inclusivity. Through our educational institutions, we can instill in our students the values of knowledge, empathy, and civic engagement. Together, let us continue to kindle the fires of wisdom and compassion in our students, for they possess the potential to shape a brighter future for all. Road Safety and Our Maryland State Trooper We extend our apologies and prayers for the speedy recovery of our Maryland state trooper injured while working traffic control in a construction zone. This unfortunate incident highlights the dangers first responders and road crews face in their line of duty. It is crucial for all motorists to exercise extra caution, adhere to traffic rules, and be mindful of the presence of emergency personnel and road workers in these areas. Efforts should be made to raise awareness about the importance of driver vigilance and caution in construction zones.

Honoring Memorial Day with Brigadier General Arthur J. Nattans On the solemn eve of Memorial Day, I had the privilege of hosting Brigadier General Arthur J. Nattans at my district office, followed by dinner at home with friends and families. Meeting him and discussing the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform was a profound honor. Listening to Brigadier General Nattans’ stories of courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms reinforced my gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their unwavering valor serves as an inspiration to us all. May we never take for granted the freedoms we enjoy and the extraordinary courage it took to secure them.

Reflecting on Memorial Day at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens Today, I had the privilege of attending the Memorial Day events at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Standing alongside esteemed veterans, families of fallen heroes, fellow Marylanders, Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr., and other elected officials, we gathered to commemorate the brave souls who selflessly sacrificed their lives for our nation. It was a moment of profound contemplation, enveloped in an atmosphere of reverence. I felt deep gratitude and humility as I gazed upon the somber surroundings. Our courageous heroes, who gave everything they had, deserve our unwavering respect. Today and every day, we must never take our hard-fought liberties for granted. Their sacrifice is a timeless reminder of the immense price paid for the freedoms we hold dear. With heads bowed and hands clasped, we honor their memory and pledge to uphold the values they fought so bravely to protect us and our freedom.
