President Biden signs Covid-19 relief bill into law

Yesterday the House of Representatives voted to pass the $1.9 trillion relief package recently passed in the Senate, and President Biden signed the bill today. The passage of this economic relief package will have a tremendous impact, providing direct stimulus in the form of $1,400 checks, expanding a child tax credit, and extending a $300 unemployment supplement for six months.

The potential impact from this legislation is substantial, with poverty potentially slashed by a third and child poverty cut in half. Funding for food aid, utility, rental and mortgage assistance, vaccine distribution, and much more is also included.

I would like to thank our representatives for moving this through. Hopefully, the stimulus will be dispersed, and there will be no disruption in unemployment pay, which was set to expire this weekend.
