The Maryland Department of Transportation recently announced that the intersection of Joppa Road and Harford Road will be getting major improvements beginning this fall. The improvements will see lanes being added on southbound Harford Road and on westbound Joppa Road, signals upgraded at Joppa and Harford as well as Joppa and Avondale Road, upgraded ADA compliant ramps and sidewalks, and additional shoulder width for bicyclists.
With these upgrades we are also going to see waterline replacement work, construction of storm drains, construction of a concrete median, and complete road resurfacing in the area. All four phases of the project are slated for completion by the fall of 2022.
